which outfit for NYE
Permalink Closed

i have a million different nice tops that i could wear for new year's eve outfits, but i really don't want to do a fancy top/jeans combo. i'm going to a party at my friend's loft so i can wear whatever.

so i was thinking of putting an outfit together around this:

but i don't know what to wear above my knees! i have these two skirts which could work. both are very fitted and fairly short. and these are the tops that might work.
can anyone come up with a better shirt? or should i do black skirt/top?

so which top, which skirt? or should i go with all black?

I like the idea of the camel skirt, and I'm thinking a sexy black top.

Question about the shoes, they're the ones from Baker's right? Are they smooth leather or furry?

I like the cream boat neck/off the shoulder top with the camel skirt.  I like the idea of a simple outfit since the shoes/socks are the focus.

cc, where did you get those socks?  Very sassy, I like them.

i would wear a black top/skirt so the outfit would be more evening-like and the socks and shoes would stay the focal point.

oops, i didn't mean to include that pink top in the selection! that would be a bit too colorful!

i'm going to try everything on tonight. i have too many fun new clothes; it's making my decision very difficult!

grace - i got the socks at h&m. they also come in teal. i wore them when i went out on christmas night and it felt so cheerful and festive.

FashionPrincess - yes, those are the shoes from baker. they aren't leather, they are calf/pony hair or whatever it's called so they are furry. they are really nice considering how cheap they are. the heel is wooden, which i think is a nice touch.

CC:  I wasn't going to post b/c you mentioned that you included the pink shirt by mistake.....I must admit I am seriously drawn to the idea of wearing the pink shirt with the knee highs......I think you should try it with a black skirt.  I could be wrong, but I think it would look fabulous!

oh i would wear the pink top w/ the knee socks (the top does have all that red lace), but with a black skirt and black shoes. originally i was going to post other possibilities but then i decided i really want to wear the leopard shoes and the i think the pink/red/leopard is too much. i think i'll try that out when i go home tonight, it could look really cute.
