Searching For The Perfect Dress (IRL PICS)
Permalink Closed

So, we're going to the KY Oaks in a couple weeks and I've got to get a dress/shoes picked out so that I can get my hat designed. For those who aren't familiar with the Oaks is the day before the KY Derby (horse race) -think "Pretty Women" type clothes.  I bought this dress on vacation in Orlando and my mother thought it'd be perfect with a Navy hat with flowers to coordinate but I'm not so sure.  It's my first option.  What do you think?
Does it EVEN look good on me?  I usually don't do this style dress.
Also, the green shoes or satin navy shoes.  I'd prefer to wear a stilletto (that's my normal thing) but we do a TON of walking!!

The flash is WAY off on the green.  The shoes are the exact color as the green in the dress and they are a kelly green like shown here:

Here's a picture with the satin navy shoes

I think the dress looks good on you. If it were for more everyday wear, I'd say the navy. But since it's the KY Oaks, I'm saying green.

I like the green for the Oaks, although I'm not sure that's an outfit you can repeat afterwards! If you want something you can wear again, I'd go for the blue. But I think you absolutely can be a little matchy/twee. It's the Oaks!

Do you live in Louisville? I just graduated from UofL last July!

Yeah, I'm only trying the colored shoes on because the bright colors scream "Oaks" normally I'd pair this with a nude/tan stilleto heel.

Actually I'm in the Bardstown area - but we are UofL season ticket holders!

I'm still a little unsure of this....

I'm looking at another option right now.

I like the dress, but seems your not feeling it.  Thinking of the Ok I immediately thought Lilly, so what about these:

I think you look beautiful and that dress is very flattering. I prefer the blue shoes. Have fun, btw!

I also prefer the green shoes. Since your thinking of wearing a navy hat, wouldn't it then be too matchy matchy if you wore the blue shoes?

Btw the dress looks really nice!

Because of the hat, I say go with the green shoes, they look like more fun.

And that dress does look great on you!
