i started using john frieda brilliant brunette shampoo and conditioner about a month ago and LOVE IT

it has made my hair super soft and really shiny, and smells  candy sweet.  the ingredients say it has caramel in it -- i'm not sure what this means ... but the stuff is fab -- i definatley reccommend it.

Thanks for the review. What type of hair do you have...thin, thick, dry ect?

I too LOVE this stuff (shamp, cond and styling products).  I have moderately thick, kind of dry hair and gives me body w/o frizz.

I never tried the shampoo or conditioner. I tried the shine enhancer but it made my hair very flat. Does the shampoo or conditoner have this effect?

i've been using the shampoo for months and i really like that it makes my hair shiny and soft. the conditioner is too much for me - weighs my hair down - so i use the shampoo (the darker version) with garnier fructis conditioner for dry/damaged hair. the combo works really well for my thick, wavy, medium brown hair.

megs -- i haven't tried the shine enhancer, so i can't compare it's effects with those of the conditioner.  i don't think it weighs my hair down, so it might just depend on your hair (as it is too much for smash's hair)

I have thick, straight hair and I just use the volumnizing shampoo and conditioner. My hair is a lot bouncier than it used to be. I also used the shine enhancer, which I use to make my hair kinda piece-y in the morning, but I could see how it could make hair look flat.

I recently bought this because I dyed my hair brown a month ago.  I think it made my hair color look better!  Definetly added more shine and my hair is really soft.

So I guess you can use it if you have highlights in your hair?

It's really great how these things work with the dye. I have a blonde one I use when I dye my hair red so it gives it a strawberry blondish kind of look.

Megs, IMO it does. I like the brilliant brunette for the shine it gives my hair, but it certainly doesn't give me any added volume at all. I have very fine, thin hair, and this shampoo is great for softness and shine, but not volume.
