I knew I'd be paid back for this.  Years ago, I was in a college club with a fellow student who annoyed me to the point that I (to only myself and my one close friend) I made fun of her name.  Her first name was Bronwyn, so I referred to her as "Bunion" in a grand fit of immaturity.  I didn't even know what a bunion was until a few months ago!

Now I have bunions and will have to get surgery on at least one foot.  And, my friends, we're not talking about the quick, put a band-aid on it kind.  I'm referring to the 6-weeks-out, temporary handicap parking tag fusion-type of surgery.

Some people have had bunion surgery here, right?  Any tips, warnings, recommendations?

I'm sorry, Bronwyn.  I'm a jerk.

I just wanted to say I feel for you. Bunions suck!!!!!! I'm crossing my fingers I won't have to have the surgery.

I had both feet operated at once. It was extremely painful. I had to wear those funny booties FOREVER it seemed like. I'm glad I did it but I hate my scars. I was on crutches and it hurt so much to walk. Let me know if you have specific questions that I can help you with. Good luck.

Oh jeez.  What is the probablility that we know the same Bronwyn?  I don't know if I even want to find out! fear.gif

Alegria - Could you drive at all during the 6-week heal period?  I won't let them operate on both at the same time; I saw what my boss went through.

No, even when it was "time" to start wearing normal shoes (new balance) and walk without crutches/drive/etc it hurt. They did break my toes to realign them though so I don't know if that made a huge difference or not.
