Moms: what gift would you want while in the hospital?
Permalink Closed

My friend is due any day now, and she's giving birth at the hospital near my house, so I'll likely go and see her. She decided to have a "meet jr." party instead of a baby shower (she had a baby shower with her DH's family out of state), so I don't think she has a registry. She is a total Type-A personality, so I highly doubt she *needs* anything, but I'd like to bring her something when she's in the hospital. Any suggestions? I don't want to spend a ton; maybe around $20?

Flowers are always nice. They would brighten up the room a bit.

Food!  Your friend and her husband would likely both appreciate it after days of hospital food or takeout, especially if it included a yummy dessert!

I would make her a "time capsule" for the baby.  Buy a few of your favorite magazines (these work double duty as your friend can look through them as she's resting and the baby is sleeping), a newspaper from the day the baby is born, make her a cd of the the top 10 songs on Itunes the day of the baby's birth, etc.  Stick it all in a keepsake box and the baby will be able to look back on the fashions of the day, the songs that were popular and the current events on the day of his or her birth.

Food or some cute sweats/lounge clothes. Or drinks, I had people bring me some flavored water so I didn't have to drink soda or juice when I got tired of just plain water.

these are great ideas -- thank you! She actually went into labor earlier today, so I will need them earlier than I think!
