Cowboy boots : still in style or so yesterday?

I have a camel pair that I bought back in 2005. With a dress, do they still look okay or like an old overdone trend?

I think they still look okay, as long as they're a more neutral color. Yours sound like they're fine!

I think the ones that are pink, or some other trendyish color, are a little overdone.

However, I could be biased since I live in Texas, and cowboy boots are a closet staple.

I agree it's about where you live. If I wore cowboy boots, I'd feel like I was in a costume and I'd get funny looks. I live in Kentucky.

I love my cowboy boots and as soon as the snow is gone, I'm busting them out again!

I Live in Austin cowboy boot capital! So I don't think they ever go out of style. But IMO they should be original boots (Justin, Acme, etc.), not knockoffs (Nine west, Steve madden, Bakers, etc.)

I agree 100%. Originals are a classic...i thinks the others are too...fad-ish? is that the right word? I wear mine at least once a week, with jeans, dresses...whatever...I'm in rural Oklahoma, but would wear them anywhere!

These are mine...they hit just below the knee, are super comfortable, and i'm a little in love with them....they're by Twisted X, a company started by a former Ariat designer....

I remember thinking Reese Witherspoon looked so cute wearing the cowboys with dress combo in Sweet Home Alabama but to be honest, I think that if I saw anyone wear the combo now, where I live (L.A.), I'd think "so five years ago"...sorry!

ETA:  Important qualification:  If the combo is your style and you feel natural in it, then you most likely have the confidence to pull it off.  And who knows? You might even bring the trend back smile

I kinda think cowboy boots are a classic. I still see a lot of girls wearing them, but I live in New Mexico, so that could have a lot to do with it. I think it depends on how you wear them.

I think if they are the classic pairs (like Justin, Frye), it's OK, but I don't love the look. I also live in LA, where we burned out on the trend awhile back, though. Less stylized boots (like Frye Campus) are still ok in my book though.

I think cowboy boots are a classic, but I think the cowboy boot/dress combo is very 2005. Cowboy boots and jeans or other pants are fine though. JMO.
