Bridal Shower Games and Gifts
Permalink Closed

I am helping to throw a bridal shower for a dear friend of mine on Saturday.  I am in charge of games and prizes and need some ideas.  Here were a few I had in mind, but I need your thoughts:

-Purse Scavenger Hunt-I will have a list of several items that I will call out.  The person who has the most items in her purse wins a prize.

-Wedding Songs-I will have everyone write down their "wedding song" (first dance or whatever) on a piece of paper.  I will draw the songs out of a hat and the players will have to try to guess which song goes with who.  The person who guesses the most songs wins.

-How Well do You Know the Bride-You know the drill here...I will ask the bride a series of questions beforehand then will list several questions about the bride.  The person who gets the most right wins.

-Advice for the Bride-Each player will write some wedding advice down on a piece of paper for the bride.  I will read off each piece of advice and the players will have to guess who wrote what.

Will these games be okay?  Any other suggestions?  How many games is a good amount?

As for prizes...what should I buy?  I want fun, girly, inexpensive prizes but need some ideas...

I would do maybe 2 or 3 games.

The ideas you have are good.  Maybe instead of doing "how well do you know the bride" you could have questions about the bride, questions about the groom, and then questions about them as a couple (example: where did he propose to her, how did they meet, etc.), especially because questions only about the bride gives the bride's family and friends an advantage over the groom's side of the family (which I'm assuming will be there also).  You could have a total of 15 questions (5 on the bride, 5 on the groom, 5 on the couple) and the person (or team) with the highest score wins.

Another oldie but goodie is Bridal Bingo.  You take a look at what has been bought off of the bride's registry, and then make bingo cards with the names of gifts on them.  As the bride opens her gifts, the guests fill out their bingo cards.  It makes the gift giving a little less dull for the guests (especially if it's a big shower with lots of gifts).

Hope this is helpful! smile

Me likey the purse scavenger hunt. That's hee-larious. Maybe give a special prize to the person with the most unusual item in their purse (judged by a show of hands).
