I am curvy, although tall. I find that sevens and COHs fit me very well. I also really like Joe's jeans. I would suggest hitting up nordstroms and making it a day (half day, whatever) of trying on a ton of jeans. Sometimes I go in and try on 20 pairs and only find one that fits. Not every pair of sevens and COHs fit me either. It is definitely hit and miss. Good luck!!

I'm very curvy, and whether I gain or lose weight, my proportions stay the same, like you. That being said, I've had success with the following:

Joe's Honey - I don't really like how they've changed the fabric they use, though, and I find that the new styling is MUCH slimmer cut.

COH Faye - Almost a trouser fit, but not quite. Love how they put little tucks at the waist to make the waist smaller while still leaving booty room.

People's Liberation - Uber stretchy, so lots of room for my butt

Freedom of Choice - Hard to find, but a curvy girls best friend. My friend and I have very different, but very curvy, body types, and we both love these jeans

Jeans I want to try: Chip & Pepper seems to have re-designed their jeans, and they looked promising. Kasil jeans, and AG angel.

I usually don't do well in the narrow thigh/skinny knee area but I found COH to be marvelous (I liked the Ingrid flare). SFAMK was good for those with booty although the thigh seemed less accomodating. Joes Honey did fit much better for the curvy figure but is it just me or are the pockets on the back so teeny tiny? Make my backside look even bigger.. whats the point? I liked Paige Premium bc they make thighs seem soo skinny, but certain styles are cut way too narrow for me. I have had a lot of luck with Banana Republic. I usually go for a dark wash bootleg and am very happy with the results for a mid-price jean (never buy fullprice). They usually don't run too long in the inseam either so being 5'4" I didn't even have to hem my last pair :O

I really think you should go to a Bloomies and try on 10 pairs per week or something. You will be surprised at how things you THINK would fit nicely don't and vice versa.

Joe's Muse. If you haven't tried them, please do. Also, don't discount the first pair you try on. They fit pretty differently according to wash. They are small enough at the waist and wider through the leg. I think they are the most comfortable and flattering jeans I've ever had. Sorry, they don't come in different lengths. I have to hem but it's worth it.

Ran over to BR and Macy's real quick today, and tried on everything they had. Neither had a huge selection and my BR doesn't carry petite lengths of jeans weirdface

. However, I did figure out my size in a more casual pair of Lucky jeans and I've had luck with those in the past.

I ended up buying this pair at BR, which must have been a return so yay for me!

They fit a touch closer in the thigh for me, but I was really suprised by them. Nice sturdy denim too, and the SA promised I could return them if they shrank too much in length

They're not the trouser style I was after per se so I'll have to keep trying on for those (planning a Nordies jeans trip soon). Have a pair I'm still thinking about at Ann Taylor Loft, but the jeans I'm trying to replace are from there - the denim is so flimsy they don't hold their shape.

I'm going to write down all your suggestions and take them with me! Nordies tailors for free for reason, right?

I think I'm a similar shape, and I actually found a great pair of trouser jeans at Gap about a month ago. I was surprised, because their jeans are usually horrible on me. Might be worth checking out.

I'm also a huge fan of Joe's Jeans. I was never really into jeans until I found Joe's; it was just too hard for me to find anything that fit without a ton of tailoring. I'm super curvy and I find that almost all the Joe's styles fit me really well. My faves are Honey and Socialite.

My second choice would be the AG brand. I used to like Kasil, but I haven't seen them in stores in ages and I don't really like to buy jeans online unless it is a style I'm pretty sure will fit.

I know Nordies charges for original hem tailoring - I want to say it's $10-20. Not sure about just a regular hem though - that might be free.

There are a couple more pairs from BR I'd like to try - I tried a pair of their trouser jeans on (another return) and hated the back pockets, the high rise, and light wash, but they have a darker, lower-waisted version with nice back pockets online. Was going to order a bunch of pairs and just take back the ones that didn't fit, but all the online codes expired a few days ago . I do it as soon as some new ones pop up ...

And I think these have to go back:

They only have a 30" inseam to begin with, and lost nearly another inch with washing. Their trouser styles have a longer inseam, hopefully I'll have better luck there.
