My Gran is the world's hardest person to shop for. She is almost 90 and hates pretty much everything. And she will tell you to your face that she hates the gift you gave her. So what can i get for her for Xmas? My brother is taking her for an afternoon matinee at the symphony so I can't just cop out with a book or something.
She doesn't like: -bath stuff (a big no no) -treats/coffee/teas -candles/home decor trinkets -cds/dvds -craft stuff/games
She likes to read and she likes classical music. Any ideas???
how do you think she would do with an ipod? My brother gave my 96-year-old Grandpa an ipod last year and he LOVED it. He would jam out all day and it was easy for him to learn because there aren't a bazillion buttons. My brother put all of his CDs on it so he never had to fool with that himself. I said that because you said she likes classical music.

I wouldn't say that this should be the main gift.. but what about a classy leather bookmark? There are some really nice ones out there. Also, does she like to travel or fine dining? Maybe you could go somewhere with her for a weekend or take her to one of your city's top resteraunts.
Tickets to a symphony or choral concert? Dinner out with you? A trip with you to a fabulous bookstore where she can pick out some books for herself followed by coffee and dessert or lunch?
Sounds like my 80 year old grandmother! I like the idea of something she could wear to the symphony with your brother. My grandmother likes stuff she can show off at church, like a nice pin for her dress or nice wrap.
I bought her a digital frame this year and loaded it with picture of the grand-kids. Last year I made her a custom calendar online with pictures of her and the family, she loved that.
I was also going to go with a digital frame. They are a big hit this year! And I have gotten lots of customers coming in saying that they are going to put pictures of the grandchildren and children on there for their grandmothers. If not, I also like the idea of taking her on a weekend trip maybe.
