Applying skincare products?

So. I read once that there is an order in the application of skincare products.  For example, I use a toner, then the Proactiv finishing lotion (acne control), what if I wanted to use a wrinkle-prevention-type cream or serum at night?  What would I apply first?  Does wrinkle stuff go on first or moisturizer?  This has always confused me.

Here are the basic 4 steps: Cleanse, Correct, Hydrate, Protect.
In other words, wash your face, apply your "correcting" product (this would be an acne product if you're broken out, an anti-aging serum...etc), moisturize, and then SPF

Moisturizer creates a barrier, so anything you put on after it doesn't really penetrate your skin. So wrinkle creme first, then moisturize.
