Honestly, my personal feeling on the Fashion board there is that there's a core group of girls who do the snarking most of the time and for no reason other than to be bitchy. For the most part, there are a lot of helpful and nice ladies there though! I'm curious as to who was doing the snarking to you too (if ya want to answer this, you can PM me instead of posting here if you like

I go over to the fashion board occasionally and post, and I've experienced the same thing before. I agree w/Carrie - there seems to be certain girls who are snarky just to be snarky, but there's also a lot of great girls over there. You just have to be thick skinned and ignore it, but I've definitely gotten attacked and felt like not going back before too.

hmm I've been there quite a few times..

I've posted only a few times..

I haven't had any real issues...sometimes I don't get a response to my question...but *shrug* who cares?

I think they tend to joke around a lot on that board and they don't realize that everyone does not find it funny.
try not to worry about it..
they are just being silly..

I know the situation you are referring to, and I honestly think she was just joking around, not being snarky.

That board used to be really great a couple of years ago, but a lot of the fun girls left. Several of the members worked in fashion/advertising world but I have a feeling they moved over to the thefashionspot.

I think part of the problem is a lot of the women on makeupalley are bored at work and constantly want fresh material to read. No matter what time I log on, one girl in particular is on there. I think she must have something akin to a police scanner for mua installed at work, her car, cell, and home.

All that is fine if you can deal with it. But you can't be on the board 24/7 and then get mad when you start seeing the same questions being posted or new members learning their way around. They jump all over people and I'm thinking, uh, it is you that has the problem! It is time for you to get up from the computer and start a new hobby or hop on Monster.

I have come to that conclusion too. For some reason I have been in a slightly bad mood for two days, so I think I just took it wrong.

i mean i guess there is snarkyness sometimes, but i like MUA. i think the regulars only get miffy when newer people ask a question that's been asked repeatedly only because there is a board search option that can answer a lot of questions people ask. (ie i always try to search before asking because chances are the question has already been answered)

there are a lot of really helpful ladies on there!

I'm sure I will go back over there. I have just been in a bad mood the past couple of days and think I took it wrong.
