Gotta love Dove. I hardly ever buy based on ads but these definitely make me want to buy every product they have... especially if it makes me younger, softer, smaller.
Carrie Bradshaw: The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.
Its great marketing. Totally working on me too, I have started buying Dove products since they started this campaign. I feel its better to support this than all the super critical ads that tell you their product will "fix" you. I don't need anything magic, just shampoo.
I don't even care if this kind of marketing "works" on me. If anything, I'm happy to support a company who is getting these kind of messages out into the world. And I'm okay with the fact that they're getting these messages out mainly to benefit themselves.

Dove has slowly built a reputation for using "real women" in their campaigns and such, so I think this is a logical next step for them. Is this UK only?
I'd like for them to include the fashion industry too, but one can't be picky.
AFAIK Dove is still on the animal cruelty list (testing, research) so I can't support them, but those who don't have the same priorities as me...good for you! Show Dove the Love.

according to their website (who knows if its accurate?), they don't do animal testing.
2. What is the DoveŽ policy on animal testing? Hide Answer
Answer: Dove and Unilever share your concern over this important matter and we are committed to the elimination of animal testing. We do NOT test any of our home or personal care products on animals. We will continue to work for alternative methods by participating in industry and scientific programs as well as to support legislation that promotes the elimination of animal testing.
Eh, Dove may make great body soaps but a marketing campaign is still just that...just a way to make more women buy their stuff. Dove is owned by Unilever which is pretty well known for it's nasty industry practices (notably fair trade, child labor, and environmental stuff).
Also...can you really get behind a company that is owned by the same company that owns Axe? I mean, Axe? Seriously- don't all those stupid Axe commercials negate the good Dove commercials?
Until I see the parent company Unilever take a stand on the same issues that Dove has, then I cry foul.
