flat boots help!

last year when i was in london i saw a couple of girls in flat boots that came to the knee.  the cool thing about the boots is that in the back right below the back of the knee- the boots cut down into a "V".  i loved these boots and have searched for them in london, paris and now in the US but haven't had any luck finding anything similar. 

has anyone out there seen anything similar?  i'm in NYC for the week so if anyone has suggestions for great shoe stores or department stores with great selections of shoes (i was thinking about visiting saks), i would be willing to head out to visit them while i'm here!

I've only browsed a little, but I found this pair of Frye's. The back is more of a 'U', but I think they're a nice style. Warning...the pictures are going to be big.

I was also thinking....Maybe you could get boots that can be worn cuffed or uncuffed. I think the top would have that v-shape youre looking for when worn uncuffed.
