opinions on dress and accessories for HS reunion
Permalink Closed

I got my first DVF!!  I picked up this dress at Nordstrom Rack today and I was thinking of wearing this to BF's HS reunion (I'm a class below him so I'll know everyone too).  The invite said attire is "dressy casual" and BF is going to wear nice jeans, a button up, and a blazer.

Do you think this dress will work given occasion and attire?

I bought it thinking I'd wear red, yellow, green, or turquoise shoes but when I got it home I starting feeling guilty about buying too much and thought it does work (just isn't as fun) with the black peep toes I'm wearing in the pic.

I thought if I wear the black shoes I'd wear a colorful necklace but this seems a little chunky.

I tried these on at Nordies a while ago and love them.

Opinions on shoes/jewelry/purse ideas?  Thanks!

I like the dress, it looks great on you! If you feel uncomfortable about wearing colorful shoes then you could probably do the black shoes, green necklace and a green clutch.

You look great! I think the dress is perfect for a reunion. I actually prefer the black shoes and the green necklace... I think it looks more sophisticated than the colored shoes.

I like it with the black shoes and a pop of color in the necklace. The green necklace is really pretty, but I wonder if something in a brighter color or gold might work better.

I agree.  If you want to add more color you could just use a bright colored bag.

Thanks ladies. Any ideas on purse color? I'm definitely leaning towards just wearing the black shoes. I'm thinking I'll wear the green necklace or something cheap from Target or something if there are other color ideas.

I actually like it very much with black shoes and your necklace... I wouldn't change a thing! Maybe you could carry a silver clutch?

the dress looks fab on you! I like it with the green necklace and the black shoes. But it would also look good with the red shoes. If you decide to go without the necklace and looking for another colored accessory, maybe a dark (non navy) blue clutch? I have been obsessed with cobalt lately, though, so that may just be my obsession talking. :)

I love that dress and you wear it beautifully! If it isn't too much color for you, I like the jade necklace AND the red shoes - with a simple black fabric clutch? An onyx cocktail ring? Red toenails?
