I was watching the Today Show this morning and they had on this girl who was almost kicked off her Southwest Airlines flight because her outfit was to revealing. I just want to say that although I know that's how a lot of girls dress, especially from Cali (I mean hey, if you've got it, flaunt it) I think she could have worn something a little more appropriate for a flight. She wore the outfit on the Today Show to show them what the fuss was all about and her and her mom were all "it's not bad at all, what's wrong with this??" I just have to say that when she stood up to show everyone and then sat back down they had to put a BLURRY SPOT over her VA JAY JAY!!! UM HELLO!!!!!!
Here's a link to a pic and article...http://tinyurl.com/27pog4
Plus she said she was only flying to Tuscon for a few hours to go to a doctors apt. I don't know what kind of doctor it was but this isn't usually the type of thing I would be comfortable in to be travelling in and getting a check up!
I saw the Today show this morning to and was laughing when they had to blur out her crotch. So yeah, I'd say it was too short. I do feel bad that they stewardesses embarrassed her so badly though. They should have caught it before she got on the plane if it was that big of a deal.
I dunno...from that pic, I've definately seen worse. Seems like they could have just asked her to keep a blanket over her lap or something. Maybe she didn't realize how much it rose up when she sat?
Considering the fact that Southwest airlines does not have a dress and because she was not violating any state or federal laws by wearing her outfit, I find it apalling that she was humiliated in that way and asked to leave the airplane initially. I personally would not wear that outfit, but I believe in the protection of individual rights and feel her rights were violated. I would sue the airlines if I were in her position. Also, I think the Today show blurred out the crotch area for dramatization purposes, I'm sure she was wearing underwear.
It is what the coeds seem to be wearing these days. I remember an episode of Hulk Hogan's show were Brooke was wearing a really, itsy, bitsy skirt to an amusement park where she would be riding roller coaster rides and what-not. Her dad was all, "No way!" Until Brooke showed him she was wearing a pair of boy short underwear underneath. Then, all of a sudden it was ok. Maybe she was wearing boy shorts. Besides, it's no worse to see a pair of underwear in my opinion than seeing a bikini bottom of a bathing suit.

Ditto to all of this! I cannot believe they humiliated her. Although I wouldn't wear it- I have definitely seen worse.

Uhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm thats not bad at all. I think it was jealousy that caused anyone to even think twice. I was at the mall today and saw about 500 worse outfits.
You know I thought this was so weird. I feel like there has to be more to the story...was she acting in appropriate? Or maybe the flight attendant was in a bad mood. I'm in airports twice a week every week and I've seen FAR worse than that.
Yeah it was inappropriate...but since when do airlines kick people off their flights due to their dress?? Am I missing something? I am also appalled that they kicked her off of the flight. Completely and utterly taking it too far. Seriously.
I'm a little confused over the use of the word inappropriate. What exactly is inappropriate about a miniskirt and tank top for an airplane ride? It may not be appropriate for an office day-job but it really bothers me that something could be appropriate or not for a plane ride. What about a plane ride makes that outfit incorrect or wrong than say, a walk around the mall?
I watched the Youtube video of the Today Show clip and there really is nothing wrong about the outfit. It was a cute outfit and something she was obviously very comfortable in.

I thought it was a bit slutty (the top was fine IMO but the skirt was crazy short on the video I saw). I also can't believe her mom said it was okay. My mom would kill me if she saw me dressed like that.
however, I don't think she should've been kicked off for that.

yeah I really don't get it either--kicking her off the flight was preposterous and unnecessarily humiliating. As long as she's not exposing herself, no one has any grounds for complaint! A public commercial flight is not the kind of venue where you can discriminate based on "appropriateness" of attire.
This was a Southwest flight right? Okay, yeah, the flight attendants were probably just jealous because this girl's looking like a hot mama and they are stuck wearing those god-awful uniforms that consist of faded blue, pleated eighties shorts and hideous polo-style shirts.

I completely agree. I feel like this story came from another country.

I'm sort of in the majority...the skirt is very short, too short, but she's not indecent, and taking her off the plane wasn't justified. The top half of the outfit is fine.
With everything there is to annoy you about air travel these days, a pretty girl in a micro-mini is not one of them.
Honestly, women should be able to wear whatever they want whenever they want, and not have our clothing choices questioned whether we're flying on a plane, getting toasted at a frat party, etc. Yet at the same time, of course I believe that we should be conscious of dressing appropriately for various situations to project the proper image.
I'm definitely on the confused side of things...since when is it an airlines right to govern what I or anyone else wears? I'm paying to be on the plane! I can damn well where whatever I want so long as it doesn't cause danger to anyone else.
