I found this pair of vintage (well, from the 80s) boots for dirt cheap on etsy, but are these types of boots out of style?  I saw this flat/slouchy/cuff type of boot a lot last fall/winter and was just wondering if theyd still work this season.  i need to get a good pair of boots in black and brown for this fall, and i know i want brown riding boots, but i'm at a loss for what kind of black boots to get...i don't want high heels because i'll be walking all around campus, sometimes in the snow.

I think they're fun but the style probably doesn't have a lot of life left in it.

I actually like them - a good polish and they'll look cute.  I think they're a classic style for campus, and you won't be upset if they get wet from snow.
