Starting a new job...need help
Permalink Closed

Well...I finally finished school and will be starting teaching at a junior high. I'm soooo excited but I have a problem. I have a few tattoos and I must cover them for work. I have one on my ankle and one on my foot. So, I guess I will be wearing full length pants to work everyday...which is not too bad. But, what kind of shoes should I look for to cover the tattoo i have on my foot. I would appreciate any shoe suggestions that will cover and not look to grannyish...lol! Thanks!

How big is your tattoo? I'd probably just cover it with a band aid or something. It's going to be hard to find cute shoes that cover your whole foot.

Too big to cover with a band aid and not look crazy...lol. I guess I'm going to be stuck in boots year round. I'm going shopping this weekend to see what i can find.

Could you wear regular shoes that don't cover your whole foot and trouser socks/hosiery that is thin enough to wear with shoes but thick enough to mask the tat?

this is what I was going to suggest too. I honestly thing that any closed shoe combined with pants will hide pretty much anything you could possible have on your foot...

I'd just wear trouser socks with your shoes and pants instead of trying to find shoes to cover your whole foot.

How crazy is it that I hadn't even thought of that...lol. I guess I just stressed out. I am terrible at all this and having to figure out work wear that is functional and the shoe thing...stressed me out a little bit. Thanks ladies!

Have you tried any of the tattoo covering makeup? I've heard that some of them work really well, but I haven't had the occassion to try it myself.

If you do a google search on "tattoo cover" a few different options come up.

I am a teacher as well, and there are a few teachers in my school that have tatoos in visible places. Is it part of your dress code policy to cover them? or are you uncomfortable showing them?
