So i thought I'd give you girls a review of my eyelash extensions. I got them done about 3-4 weeks and although I loved them in the beginning, I had a lot of problems.
1st - the girl who applied them didn't prep the area right and when she tapped on my forehead (and I blinked) some of the top lashes glued to the bottom lashes. After that it was downhill. I think she did as poor job of repairing the blinkg incident and just kept going but it made for some blotchy glue jobs. The glue was visible on some parts and anything would get stuck on the glue (cotton ball, lint, etc)
After a couple of weeks, I would wake up with the extensions pointing in all different directions (espcially downward) and you could see where the extension was glued to and it was pivoting all-around. (I am told it's best if you don't rub your eyes or toss & tur in your sleep alot).
Finally I removed the few remaining ones myself and I think my actual lashes are sparser (for all my tugging and messy sleeping habits). Although it was expensive ($145), time consuming (about 2.5hrs), and short-lived, I would do it again (like when I have a bunch of weddings this summer). I am referred to a woman who charges less and is meticulous about,. so I am hopeful my next experience will be better.
Over and over, I have heard the same thing. They look great in the beginning but leave you sparse in the end and need a lot of upkeep. Until this method is perfected, why not try $3 Ardell lashes for your weddings?
Here's some tips on how I do it, incase this helps: I get the full strip lashes, individuals are hard to apply. I cut the strip in half and use one half of each side onto a small makeup brush and let it sit there for a while. This way, the strip will be slightly curved like your eye. I then take eyelash glude and pour a drop on my hand. I drag a strip through the glue and let it get tacky for like 30 seconds. I then apply it with tweezers to the outer half of the eye. Let it dry for a few minutes, then go over with eyeliner, apply mascara etc.
Its very simple when you only do 1/2 a strip. Some people reuse them but I find it easier just to peel them off at the end of the night and toss them. Sephora makes a great set for like $8 which has a set of half lashes, full lashes and glue. Good luck!
