It's a completely informal beach wedding (MIL and FIL are renewing their vows).  Would this be appropriate?

Or how about this one?

I love the first one, however for some reason the LARGE BOLD print on a long dress is really distracting to me. I think you will be the center of attention for better or worse that night (which is not good at a wedding). If I had to choose one of the two, I would pick the first one and get it hemmed a little below my knees, i think it would make less of an impact or shock.

Both prints are beach-compatible.

If the event is as "completely informal" as you say it is, I worry a little about the length.

On the other hand, if you are dressed up more than anyone else, those prints are fun enough that it won't be a faux pas.

I have no clue as to informal it will "actually" be.  FIL said wear shorts, MIL guffawed.  They will wear a tux and dress.  I'm sure people will be in dresses of some sort, and it will be around 5, which could start to be chilly on the Atlantic.

Does that help a little?

I think you have a little more leeway with being well-dressed or more-well-dressed than others at the event because you are in the inner-circle of who will be there.  It's not like you're the 3rd cousin-15 times removed.

I like the first one best as well.

I think dress #2 is perfect...i think the straps and lighter color make it a slightly less formal...and imo the length is very beach wedding appropriate....I love them both, but would go with #2 just as a matter of personal preference...

I think they both seem appropriate, but I prefer the second one for a wedding because it is less loud.  I think they are both pretty.

I love them both, but for a beach wedding I'd go with the second one....

If its informal and at a beach I think the second dress would be perfect!

I like #1 a lot! What a cool dress -- definitely my fave. My only hesitation is if the crowd is quite conservative/unfashionable -- it is a bold print and perhaps in a less stylish crowd might stand out more than you'd want it to. But I doubt that's the case, so go for it!

OMG! I'm a TRUE-BLUE print girl, and I love BOTH of them! BUT! if I had to choose one, I'd go for AHHHH! Shux. The 2nd one, I'm in love w/yellow right about now.

Okay, I went ahead and got the 2nd one.  It has really cool straps in the back, and I think the big flowers will look good w/ my growing tum.  Now how about shoes and accessories?  Maybe I could just *really* casual-it-down by just wearing white flip-flops (nicer ones, not rubber ones)?  White shell bracelet of some sort?  Other ideas?

I was leaning toward the second one also...but now that I see the straps I love it! I think *dressier* flip-flops like you said would be great. Maybe layered bangels for jewelry.

Yeah, I think I was/am more drawn to the yellow one anyway.  I think it will accentuate my boobs better (since they're on the small side, even as a preggo).

I'm not worried too much about that.  Mostly unfashionable, frumpy-ish older ladies/men and hippy-ish younger girls mixed with a few jet-setters and executives.

Both dresses are super cute - wear with flair.  Love the flip flop and bangles idea
