quick question for anyone who wears contact lenses...
My friend told me about these PureVision lenses that you can wear for 30 days straight. I would love to be able to wake up with 20/20 vision. Wondering if anyone in here uses them? I saw you can get a free trial pair when you get an eye exam (if you print this certificate off their site), so I was thinking about trying them but wanted to hear about any experiences first...
I just started wearing them 2 months ago. At first it was great, but then my eye turned red and crusty (sorry, but it happened), so I went to the eye doctor and he told me my eyes were too sensitive for all day wear. I had to wear glasses for a week and use eye drops. When it cleared up, I started only wearing them during the day, but one night I passed out with them in and when I woke up the next morning, my other eye got all gross. I'm back to wearing them only during waking hours. The thing is, I used to fall asleep with my 2 week disposables in all the time and I never had any issues.
A couple of days ago, I found out my solution was recalled for causing parasites in the eye, but my doctor ruled that out after a day of panicking about having bugs in my eyes.
So, I still don't know if it was the solution, the contacts or the extended wear, but I have been having some issues...
I haven't heard of those, but I wear my Acuvue Oasys contacts for about 6 weeks to 2 months straight, usually, before having to get rid of them. I've never had a problem sleeping in them.

This can't possibley be safe! My mother almost lost her vision to an eye infection caused by wearing her contacts too long without taking them out. You've gotta let your eyes breathe. Please, please don't wear these for longer than six days before taking them out to clean them and let your eyes breath. Ask your doctor, it is very risky behaviour.
thanks for all the advice it is great insight! i am going to ask my dr. about them at my next appointment. i prob. wouldn't sleep in them every night anyway. i just like the idea of being able to sleep in them if i'm out for the night. the rebate and free pair is a pretty sweet offer though.
