there are 2 new lines of makeup at target and i haven't heard of either of them before. No.7 and Botanics. has anyone tried anything from them yet or heard of them before or anything? i have tried a couple of things from both.
from No.7: smoothing and brightening eyeshadow base tinted moisturizer
from Botanics: concealer, the one in a tube with a wand lipgloss in holleyhock
No 7 is by Boots. I have three of the eye shadow trios and I love love love them. The color goes on really nice and smooth and lasts well. Also minimum creasing. I'm excited to try some of the other products. It's good for the price.
i freaking LOVE boots no. 7. the concealer that's a YSL touche eclat knockoff is my everyday one. it's pretty much the best $13 concealer i've ever used and is a worthy replacement of my $30+ concealers (kanebo and ysl).
i've also got the botanicals rosemary mask. it's a strong mask (read: woulc probably burn sensitive skin) so i'm not sure if i would give it a thumbs up yet, but it's promising.
well, i have had some time to play with everything that i bought and so....
from No.7: smoothing and brightening eyeshadow base: i really like this. it really does brighten up your eye and it is so pretty you could wear it by itself. it looks really fuschia/pink in the container but goes on a lot more nudey pink. my eyeshadow went on really pigmented this morning with the base on. a lot more true to what it looks like in the pot. i was very impressed.
tinted moisturizer: i got the fair because i have extremely pale skin. at first it looked like it would be a little dark for me, but once i got it on and blended it in, it really wasn't. i did use moisturizer before i put it on, and i think that was a mistake. but i added a little pressed powder and it looked great. really easy and fresh looking.
from Botanics: concealer, the one in a tube with a wand: this was very thick. deffinatly not for under eye use. it covered the redness at the corners of my nose well though and it stayed put on a very persistant blemish as well.
lipgloss in holleyhock: this is a peachy/pink/nudey/mauveish color. a lot more sheer on than in the tube. it does last quite a while and isn't sticky. it does have a bit of shimmer in it, which i don't usually like, but it is just so darn pretty, i really don't mind or even notice. and a big bonus, it smells like grapefruit. i love that. it is so refreshing.

SHUT UP! I didn't know they made a touche eclat knockoff! Sweet! I love the YSL stuff, but when it runs out, I'd much rather buy a similar product at $13 if I can. Thanks, lilykind!
FWIW, I got the Boots No. 7 Time Resisting Day and Night Eye Care and I really like it. There are two tubes of product--a gel for day and a cream for night. Both of them go on nicely and leave my eye area feeling very moisturized.
FYI, CVS also sells Boots products and often has sales for it online.
I got the skin brightening serum and its amazing. I literally just did a double take in the bathroom because I forgot that I put it on. I put some on one hand and asked DH if he saw anything different between them, and he immediately was like "yeah, that one looks a million times better." That was yesterday and I still see a difference on them today.
The ysl concealer knockoff is also great and such a better price!

Lilykind, is this the one with the click button on the end? I bought one this weekend and am SEVERELY disappointed. I am seeing so many raves about this product but I don't get it. I feel like it is very thin and wears off frequently. I don't have massive undereye circles but just blueish in the very corner. I find that it doesn't do much for me at all. What am I doing wrong?

Yes, it's this one.
Do you set the concealer with powder? I use Stila's IPF to set the concealer. Also, are you moisturizing with eye cream prior to applying? Also, what's your skin type?
Hmmm...maybe it's a formulation thing. You may be better off with something more solid. I used to use Becca's concealer because it was the best match and while the staying power was great, it always felt heavy on my skin. I like this one because it feels like nothing and looks very natural.

I haven't tried the Boots No. 7 yet, but in my experience with the YSL product, it works best when used on top of concealer. When it's used by itself, it doesn't do much to disguise circles, but when you put concealer on first, then the YSL product, it really brightens up the whole eye area. The same might be the case with the Boots version of the product.
