Phillip Lim rosette dress: Who should I get it from?

I've got two options.

phil_wapp_Tshtdrsrsteblk.jpg

1. Standard Style w/30% off SAVEFUEL code (comes out to $330). They only have the L in stock though.

2. Pray that the auction on Ebay doesn't go over retail. It's the size I tried on originally, M. Right now it's at $128 with about 2 1/2 days left.

I tried the white one on in an M. It fit great for the most part but was a bit more form-fitting through the hips/rear than I would've liked. I'm worried it could shrink.

What would you do?

i would get the bigger size personally, but i don't like things super fitted. (but i am also torn, because this looks like it has the potential to be dumpy in too big a size)

BUT pink mascara has it in store, and maybe see if they'll match the code? otherwise i think they have a 20% off code.

I think I would get the bigger size from Standard Style. This was one of *the* dresses right, so I think it could easily go over retail on eBay. But erin is right, you don't want it too big. Ahh, decisions, decisions!

Definitely order from Standard style..and I think you should go w/ the bigger size. The dress shouldn't be form fitted in the hips/butt area, IMO.

Always easier to alter clothes down them alter them up. Go with standard style, and take it to your tailor so it fits perfectly.

yup, standard style, and if it is too big, the tailor can always take it in

I may hate myself for it someday, but when I tried on the dress originally, it was already sort of broad in the shoulders in an M. I can't imagine the L not sliding off my arms/looking dumpy, so I'm passing altogether. I think it's more trouble than it's worth to take it to the tailors.

*sigh*

on a side note, a good friend of mine is offering to cheer me up with a weekend of birthday celebration which will most likely include drunken celebratory shopping at the Cabazon outlets. all is not lost.
