foot care?
Permalink Closed

i have totally let my feet go to shit. i have cracked heels and calluses, and they don't look as pretty as i'd like. any suggestions of good products, etc that you use to make your feet look nice? (note: i will not be using a bucket of fish to eat the dead skin off!)

so far i've just been trying to put solar oil on my cracked heels, and it helps for a little bit, but nothing major.

tia!

*spasms uncontrollably* dead.gif

my heels get cracked and grey and nasty in the summer when i live in flip flops, and sloughing off the skin with pumice stone helps.

I use a pumice stone almost daily, right after I get out of the shower. I develop calluses quickly from running, you might not need to do it that often. My favorite product is the Bert's Bees Peppermint Footcream. I usually slather it on right before bed.

I use a pumice stone every day in the shower, too...it really makes a difference. And I try to get a pedicure every couple months if I go dancing a lot because that tears me up, which I especially love because they slice the callouses off (gross, I know). I got my own home pedicure kit with my own callous-slicer-offer, but I can't do it very well. I don't know about the cracks, though.

But I am curious about the fish...is that for real? I want to die!

I'm cheap, I just lather on the vaseline and and then put socks on before i go to bed.

Burt's Bees coconut foot cream with socks works wonders. I should do it more.

I use a foot scrub with a pumice in the shower (again, should do it more), and when I really get down to a good at-home pedicure, I break out the callous scraper like ttara mentioned. Be careful with the razor blades, though. If you're not super, super careful, you can seriously slice your foot.

I second the pumice stone in shower & the BB's coconut foot cream. I just bought the foot cream on Sunday & I can see a difference already.

I pumice in the shower and then do socks and this neutrogena foot cream that I got in France - it is really high in glycerin, so I think it helps to keep the moisture in.  I think vaseline works pretty well too - but it didn't absorb well enough for me.

I also get a pedicure about every month just to keep the cuticles in shape (pushed back - I don't like them cut)

That burts stuff really is the best. I love it and highly recommend it!
