We are switching out all of the lighting fixtures in our house from the god-awful brass ones that were put in by the builder. In the kitchen and hallways we are doing brushed nickel fixtures but for the dining room I wanted something different (but I'm not sure what?)...Here is a picture of the room (from Christmas)..
Any ideas? BTW I like some of the ones from Anthro but I can't "do" their prices. I don't want to go crazy with this and need to keep it reasonable.
Will you be keeping the table and chairs and just changing the fixture? I only ask so that we can help you look for something that will compliment your furniture.

Yep-everything will be the same (except the decorations)....
What about one that's designed to be used with those little lampshades? That way you could easily mix and match or change out the shades depending on the season, etc.
$71$71 $85$90 $101$185 $300 These are all just from Lowes.com, and many come in multiple finishes .
From Lamps Plus: $200$170 $170$150 $389$289 $234

I had a similar brass chandelier to the one you have and I spray painted it black. You can't tell its painted, it now looks like it came from pottery barn. You could paint your light and then find fun lampshades like Elle suggested.
i was going to suggest this website as well. they have a huge selection and their prices are right on. i've never purchased fromt them but i've browsed their selection on a few occassions and something has always caught my eye.

i ordered our chandelier from greatchandeliers.com and i was really happy with the price, shipping and product!
Erin, I'm glad you had a good experience with greatchandeliers.com - we did not. About three weeks after placing an order and getting no email confirmation that the order had been placed, let alone shipped, I decided to call. I was building a house and needed the fixture! They told me what I ordered wasn't in stock and that I should have received a LETTER in the mail about it. Which I did - two weeks after I called! Could you imagine after five weeks hearing "sorry, no can do."
Anyhoo, I love the bright, cool colors in the room. It almost looks like a doll house! I think something playful and fun...this is from Ikea, it almost has a traditional shape but a youthful vibe:
This is from Home Depot, believe it or not, but it's elegant and still unique - and you can change the shades to something brighter:
I've had good luck with lighting on eBay too. May be worth looking.
