just wanted to say hello and update you on what i've been up to. i haven't posted in a very, very long time. in fact, i think this is the first post of 2007 for me.

early in january my my son was diagnosed on the autistic spectrum. and although i had suspected it for quite some time it didn't make it any easier to hear. it's been really hard for me not being able to talk about it with friends and especially neighbors because i don't want him "labeled". so a lot of the dark feelings had to remain between me and my husband. he's doing better and better each day. we have a great doctor and i've met one very wonderful woman who has a son the same age with the same diagnosis and she lives right down the street from me. i feel lucky to finally have someone who completely understands. this is what's kept me from feeling like chatting it up on ST but i'm feeling much better these days and i hope to be able to jump back into posting mode.

my little business is doing well and i have a ton of house projects that i'm working on. i can't wait to finish them, take photos and post them! i'm also hoping (praying, actually) for a new baby this year. we've been trying without any luck but i'm staying positive that this will be the year!

also... i really need ST right now. can you even believe that i haven't bought a single item for spring? it's true. i haven't even been looking at what's out. i have absolutely no idea what to wear.

so glad you're doing better! The good news is that autism is finally getting some attention, and hopefully education will eliminate some of the labeling. My best to you & your son!

welcome back!  i'm so glad your son is doing well and that you've found someone who shares your experience.  like the others said, autism is getting so much more attention now and hopefully the labeling will diminish.  my best to you and your family!
