I'm going to be interviewing for a job, and need to put together a list of references. how many is typically enough? is it better to just the best ones (like 3) or to use as many as possible?
also, I have been self-employed. would it be appropriate to list clients as references, in addition to previous employers?
Typical 3 or 4 is enough. Honestly, employeers aren't going to call over that many if the first 3 are good. If they need more they will let you know. I would use clients! They will be a great reference for your quality of work.
