I just heard that Simon says he'll leave the show if Sanjaya makes it to the final?!?

Simon Fuller created it, not Simon Cowell.

Whoops! Nevermind! The company I work for also owns a big entertainment company that works w/AI, but the results I received were from votes from employees only, not nationwide.

I think he's said that when sanjaya made the top 12 (??) instead of a few better people but I seriously doubt he will actually leave the show. I think once they are tired of sanjaya he will get the boot whether or not the votes reflect it. I doubt he will make it to the top 5.

I think he made that comment flippantly. And really, I am sure AI loves Sanjaya. He's getting them tons of press.

According to DialIdol.com, which is supposedly about 90% accurate, Sanjaya was #4 this week for votes behind Melinda, Chris R and Lakisha.

He was on a local radio show this week and he confirmed that he said it. He said that Sanjaya makes a mockery of people that actually have singing talent and if he were to win he wouldn't want to be a part of the show anymore because it would have become about popularity/looks, not about vocal talent.
