Several months ago, I fell in love with these ankle boots by Jeffrey Campbell - the Saple II, particularly in black. I still think they're great. They're on sale right now at several webstes.
The whole sixties thing was strong this past fall & winter; you can still see it in certain shapes for the spring & summer but as I look at the fall fashion preview on style.com - I see a very strong 40's influence w/ some 70's thrown in for good measure.
My question is, should I still get these boots? I was never big into ankle boots before but something about these have a little kick to them. I can still wear them under pants as ankle boots die down in popularity but the outfit I loved last fall - my indigo blue babydoll w/ black tights & these ankle boots (I currently wear them w/ black platform t-straps) - my long brown hair straightened w/ just above the eyes bangs. I'm a size 6 & 5'4"
Although I see some short dresses, with a vague late sixites influence, they have longer sleeves for this fall & I don't see the baby doll at all. Should I not get the boots since it seems like I only have a few more wearings of this outfit for a while? Or should I just say "to H*ll with what Anna Wintour thinks!" since I look totally kick a*s in it & retro is always in?!?!?!
Sorry, I'm not that good w/ pictures....here's a tinyurl to the boots for different angles
