What's your daily uniform?
Permalink Closed

Since everyone is said in the other post that the pointy shoe plus bootcut pants plus blazer used to be the Stylethread "uniform" I thought it would be nice to share our current "uniforms" (we STers have stay up to date!)...

Mine-
For work I'm in Banana Republic usually (and why can't I copy and paste pics from Banana anymore???).  I like dressy trousers, cardigans, jersey knit tops, heels.  On weekends I'm in dressier casual (my weekends consist of going to my oldest son's ballgames mostly)-wide leg pants, wedges, knit tops, jean jacket or trench.   My style is classic not trendy at all (but maybe I need to branch out a bit!)...

Post your "current" uniform!

I haven't been working, so my uniform is super casual.  I've been wearing jeans (my favorite are Joe's Muse) or cords, detailed knit top, cable knit hoodie or sweater, ON leather hoodie, lightweight scarf, big earrings, and pumas.  It's kind of boring, but I feel somewhat put-together while still being comfortable.
I'm about to start working and am NOT looking forward to wearing khakis all the time.  But they are what is easiest and most appropriate for my job.  Blech.

It's been a little roller-coastery with weather lately, so my uniform is having to shift a bit. But lately I've been wearing a lot of cargo pants with layers (mostly a tank or tee under a sweater) and wedges or wedge boots. Warmer weather (like earlier this week) means cargos and a tee on its own. Also I've been doing tunic-y tops over jeans, and sweater/skirt/tights/boots combos.

Workdays:

Pants and sweater, sometimes with a blazer.

Or skirts and a sweater, with either boots or pumps.

Weekends/Fridays:

Long sleeve tee w/ beater underneath, jeans, boots, ON leather hoodie.

Lately I've been wearing:

-jeans every day (either a mid-color bootcut or dark-wash straight leg that I roll up the cuffs).
-black knock-off chucks
-beater in a fun color
-statement necklace or tiny silver hoops (I'm weird about wearing necklaces and earrings at the same time, even if they're both casual and unassuming. I just feel over-decorated)
-hoodie/hooded sweater of some sort
-hairband half the time

I am wearing this exact outfit today except instead of a hairband I opted for glasses. I hate wearing both at once. Too much on my head!

On the weekends, I'm usually in:
-jeans
-flats
-v-neck sweater

and if I'm going out to dinner or something:
-boots
-knee-length skirt
-fun tights
-v-neck sweater

I am SO boring lately. I'm just really uninspired, cold, and I also and madly in love with my black hoodie because of the fun buttons it has, so I wear it all the freaking time. Like 3 times a week. It's ridiculous. I'm sure all my classmates think I live in it. Which I guess I kind of do.

I'll be happy when spring rolls around, then my wardrobe is less utilitarian (making sure I'm layered and warm!) and more fun!

pjs around the house, jeans and a casual top when me and the missus go run errands, usually dresses if we go out to dinner. (mackage coat for non-baby outings, wool hooded peacoat for baby outings -- i'm worried she'll spit up on the mackage)

Since I just go to school and don't work, I usually wear jeans with a sweater or hoodie. On weekends I usually wear a velour suit or sweatpants unless I'm going out and about. I think I'm a bit dressier when the weather is warmer.

Since I don't work my uniform has been Juicy sweats and a T Shirt around the house. Joe's Muse Jeans and a light sweater for when DH comes home so he doesn't think I layed around in sweats all day

Hehe, you sound like me.  On days when I don't leave the house I still feel like I need to have my hair and minimal make up done before hubby gets home so he doesn't think I'm a big lazy bum.  Usually if I just stay home, it's sweats/lounge-y clothes.  And it varies if I go out depending on the weather.

Right now, I'm really into girly clothes, so for work I have been wearing:

jersey dresses
pretty blouses with pencil skirts and round toe pumps
I still wear a lot of blazers because it's so easy to look pulled together

weekends:
skinny jeans
ballet flats or pumas
cardigan or hoodie layered over tees or tanks, depending on where I'm going

Since its been ungodly cold, I've resorted to being totally lazy
cords or jeans
Gap long sleeve thermals- i have them in 5 colors
Vans checkerboard slip-on runners
possibly a zip-up hoodie

on days when its not so cold that I just grab whatever big ugly sweater is on top of the pile , I've been mostly in deep colored T's under a cashmere cardi, jeans or trousers, and heels. Boring, but its hard to be creative when its this cold and gross! (I also take the bus to work so have to be outsode for fairly long periods of time- I would totally wear a skirt once in a while if it was just a matter of running to the car)

I'm very predictable right now.  Usually it's a combo of... 1. shirt with collar 2. hoodie, sweater, or cardigan 3. jeans or trouser pants.  For shoes right now since it's still cold out it's brown leather lace-ups or black mocs.

Ever since I started wearing the wide-legged pants, I've become utterly predictable. But I haven't worn pants in so long, that it's actually a change from the skirts and dresses I wore all fall/winter.

doble cardigan  Some form of cropped cardi (sometimes a blazer for work)

colored beaters - I'm into all kinds of colors that go with navy (nicer cami/sweater vest/button down for work)

Navy or black wide legged pants
These wedges or colored flats (heels for work occasionally)

most commonly for work:
slouchy trouser pants, some sort of button-down (I try to buy ones with a print, or an interesting collar, etc), and either a sweater vest, a tank or a sweater over it, plus heels. This is a good example:

When I am not at work, it's usually jeans (in the winter), or shorts/capris in the summer with a T-shirt and either sandals or flats. I don't have a pic, because I never take pics of those outfits b/c they're boring!

Mine totally depends on my mood :) I try to look as put together as possible for work, since my customers expect me to be fashion forward.

If I am feeling like a comfy day I will wear trouser jeans and a fitted tee and long necklaces. If I am feeling dressy I will wear my boots and a cute dress.

I almost always wear a long necklace layered with all my outfits because I feel that jewelry always completes an outfit.

I wish my daily outfit was a bikini right now - I am craving a warm vacation by a pool!!

Well, I have two:  work and weekend.

Work:  skirt or trousers with blouse or sweater and generally a pretty camisole peeking out.  Almost always the overshirt has a fairly deep v - and the camisole keeps me decent.  This applies when I wear dresses to work too.  Lots of wrap tops too!

Weekend:  jeans or a skirt with a colorful tee and flats.  Night time would be jeans/black pants and a fun top with heels.

This is a really interesting post.  I like hearing what other people wear day in and day out!

I agree, kittenheels!

My daily uniform for work isn't that incredibly different from what I wear on the weekends.  Since I work in a business casual, young office, I can get away with wearing pretty much anything... which most days equals jeans or trousers, heels, some kind of fun top combination that involves layering, and funky jewelry.

The same goes for the weekend, although I'm more inclined to wear flats on the weekends for my daily running around.

My work uniform is very similar to kittenheels. I usually wear either a wrap top (I have too many!), a deep-V cardigan, or a scoop or deep-V top with a pretty camisole or patterned blouse underneath.  I pair those tops with trousers, jeans, or grey jeans and then pumps or wedges.

Weekends are pretty similar, actually.  In the summer, I'm in skirts all the time, but lately it's been too cold.
