Columbus, OH area girls?
Permalink Closed

Hi, I just moved to Columbus and I know there are some of you on here living in this area. I don't know many people here. Anyone want to meet up for lunch and some shopping one day? I'm a big Easton fan!

Also, any recommendations on restaurants, things to do, or shopping (love boutiques!) would be greatly appreciated!

hey Maat!  Welcome to Columbus, OH.  If I remember correctly, the area you moved to has some great shopping.  Also, I'm a big fan of the Short North area for everything from shopping to eating to going out.  The first saturday of every month is "Gallery Hop" in the Short North and that is a really fun time to go to that particular area of town.  If you've been to Easton, you probably have run across Dr Mojoe- the jeans store?  If so, the original one is located in the Short North and the buyer for the stores (Kevin) works primarily out of this location and saves all the good stuff for that location as well.  Just in case you're looking for something special denim wise!

Otherwise, Easton is great and I really like Polaris too.  They have some stores that are not located anywhere else (like Sephora and Jules) in the city.  Also, they are tearing down one of the anchor stores and are building an outside area just like Easton that is supposed to be completed sometime this fall.  So, that would be another good area to investigate.

Hopefully some of the others will chime in.  My schedule is a bit nutty but I know in March I'll be around more than this month so that would be the best for me to meet up...

Hi and welcome to Ohio!

I'm from Cincinnati but come to Columbus once every other week for work. I would love to meet up with you and have already met up with FP and Bex (who are both great girls just as you would expect!) so it would be great for all of us to meet up together sometime (maybe in March?).

Some of my favorite places in Columbus are:
-German Village-I love Schmidt's (German Food) and The Book Loft (and there is a cute deli which I forget the name of)
-Pinney Kelly Paper-A very cute stationery shop (1991 Guilford Road-near OSU)
-Easton-(of course!)-You should check out Shadowbox Caberet which is really fun, love the Melting Pot (a chain, but everything there is a chain, right?), love Francesca's, Nordies, Reuhl.
-Polaris-I like the Saks here better than the one in Cincinnati
-Short North-for shopping and food (Bex and I just ate at a great Sushi place there)
-There is also a brand-new Aveda school right on OSU's campus (great for $10 eyebrow waxes, $12 haircuts, $35 highlights)
-There is a decent outlet mall about 40 minutes south of Columbus (go 71 south towards cincy)-they have Pottery Barn outlet, Black House White Market outlet, Coach Outlet, etc.

Keep me posted-I'd love to meet you!

Yeah, my baby shower is on March 24th, so I was thinking maybe we could all get together for dinner on the 25th.  Of course anyone is also welcome to crash my shower, I'm sure there'll be plenty of cake

I found a store called Principessa that I really like. I thought I remembered seeing something else on Grandview Ave that I wanted to look in last time I was visited, but I have yet to find it. It's funny that you mentioned Dr. Mojoe. I was driving around running errands on Sunday and passed by the Dr. Mojoe in the Short North (somehow I never noticed it at Easton), thought it looked cute, but it was closed. I was like I have to remember to go there. But I forgot. Until you just mentioned it.

What is Gallery Hop?
