I tried this dress on at Saks today and really liked it but they only had it in gold in store so I just ordered it. I want to wear it to my DH's partners dinner at the Four Seasons next Tuesday. Thoughts? Is it cute, too fancy? I swear I hate these dinners, they always send me into a panic.
How should I accesorize. Keep in mind I have to wear hose of some sort since it's like 0 degrees in Chicago and my legs are so pale they are glow in the dark.

i think it's perfect for the event, and i would do earrings and a bracelet (or several bracelets). i would just do close toed pump with embellishment if you want a bit more bling.

The designer is called Black Halo never heard of them until now. The dress style is the Jackie O dress.

I love it too, Collette! Classic, but the neckline gives it a bit of edge.
I'd do a low, smooth twist with a deep side part, and these: (the really big suckers) ... and one of your lovely pairs of CL pumps (possibly leopard?). I'd probably do black hose.

That dress is hotness , but still very appropriate!
I'd wear it pretty much the way Elle recommended, but me being me would probably wear black tights with a subtle chevron-type pattern on them and swap the pearls for diamond studs.
(btw, is the gold very blingy or is it nice and subtle?)
I agree with the rest. That is a gorgeous dress and is edgy but elegant. I would keep the accessories very understated. Either simple pearls, diamond studs, or small silver hoops and possibly a bracelet.

The gold was actually very pretty however it had a bit of sparkle woven in so it's a bit too blingy for me for this situation. However if I had a more fun party to go to I definately would have considered it!
