Does anyone want to admit to....

liposuction? I'm seriously considering it but would like to get a few opinions from those who've had it done. I only want to do my outer thighs. This is the only area that refuses to respond to exercise/diet. Even when i was working out with a trainer and completely tone everywhere else the saddle bags and cellulite still remained.

I'm interested in its staying effects (i have a healthy diet and exercise regularly), any problems you experienced, cost, recovery time, and how you chose your doctor.

Any help would be great, but i understand if no one feels comfortable enough to discuss!

My cousin did it when she just got out of high school. She was a gymnast and had a very muscular build but couldn't gt rid of her saddle bags. I know she likes the results. However she gains weight a lot in her stomach area now. It's like the weight has redistributed and she gets cellulite on her belly. She did say the recovery time was terrible and she was in alot of pain from it. That's about all I know.

I had it done. I lost about 70 lbs and I lost it unevenly in back/flanks/love handles. so, I had liposuction done to even everything out and remove some of that fat pockets that just wouldn't go away no matter what I did with diet and exercise. Prior to that I had abdominoplasty to get rid of all the excess skin from losing the weight and I also had liposuction done then.

My advice would be to have realistic expectations. You won't look perfect after you have it and it won't get rid of every single ounce of fat in the area. However, it really does wonders for shaping and countouring and will help with any fat pockets that just won't budge no matter how much exercise you do. I'm more than thrilled with my resulsts and it's helped with a lot of self-confidence issues.

The recovery from only having the liposuction was a piece of cake for me - especially compared to the abdominoplasty which was EXTREMELY painful and a very long recovery. You should be able to go back to work after about 5 days and exercise again after 2 weeks. There's no scars or anything..which is nice. You can leave the hospital right after you have it done (of course, someone will have to drive you home).

I got a discount of my liposuction because I went to the same doctor who did my abdominoplasty and he also touched up my lower abdomen for free. I think the total cost was $6k.
