Okay, I feel so dumb, but I always hear people rave about using their GF grills and how quick and easy they are, but every single time I have tried I always end up overcooking and drying out the meat. Does anyone know how long approximately it takes to cook certain things, like chicken, burgers, fish, veggies, and also what settings to use? And, am I just not using enough sauce or seasonings? As you can tell, I'm not exactly a master chef! But, if I could at least figure out how to use my grill, it would help so much and give me so many more options for dinner.
I have always gone by the manual that came with it and have always ended up overcooking!
You know, it's kind of a difficult estimation game, but I usually just open the grill up and do a little slice into what I'm cooking to see if it's done or not! Each grill is most likely different, but for chicken breasts I usually do like 4-6 minutes and burgers 6-8 minutes. But I play it by ear. Don't know if that helps or not!
I have the same problem with my GF grill. Personally I think mine isn't that great. The outside gets crispy and the inside stays undercooked (in a bad way). It doesn't really work that well for me.
Have you seen this article in the NYTimes about using the broiler? I used to use the broiler a lot and forgot about it. Now that I've read this article, I'm going to start going at it again. So quick and easy!
