STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

I'm engaged! It happened last night and I'm still so happy. My boyfriend suprised me by taking me back to his hometown for the weekend. It was so last minute that I really wasn't expecting anything until he told me to bring something nice to wear to dinner on Saturday. Yesterday, I wasn't feeling the dress I packed so I had a very Stylethread moment and went out and bought a new one that seemed better suited for the occasion... plus I love and collect Lilly Pulitzer and it only seemed appropriate to be wearing one of her dresses.

So before dinner we went to his parents' country club for cocktails. Before we even made it inside, he got so excited that he popped the question. I was so happy and told him it was funny he proposed in the parking lot. He replied, "Well, it is the classiest parking lot in town" which I think is priceless. After drinks, we then called our parents and friends who were all so happy. Then we went off to dinner and proceeded to drink way to much champagne, got pretty drunk and had massive hangovers this morning. His parents had been out of town all weekend and when they returned this morning they took us to brunch.

After looking at our schedules and other commitments, we think we're going to get married in March 08. I graduate this year from law school and take the bar the last week of July. He's also in law school but a year behind me so we would do it during his spring break. I don't want wedding stress to affect my bar prep and vice versa, plus his brother is getting married in December so March seems like a perfect time.
